Madonna Decena on Britain’s Got Talent Semi Finals 5 loses

Saturday, May 31st, 2008

Madonna made Amanda cry when she auditioned in Manchester - and it looks like she’d do it again when photos of her children flash up on the screen as she belted out Witney Houston’s The Greatest Love Of All.

After an emotional performance Piers said: “I think you did your two little girls proud.” Amanda
agreed and admitted she believed in Madonna when she sang. Simon again, provided the spanner in the works though: “I love you, I love your story, but this is Britain’s Got Talent, not Britain’s best story.”

After watching this video, I think Madonna made a good performance, perhaps the song was not that powerful as her first one though which earned Simon’s negative remark. Since the choice of winners are in the hands of the voting public, the first thing that entered my mind was either UK didnt have enough filipinos that supported Madonna (by calling in) or most didnt just choose to support her which is sad.

ABS-CBN new online carried a more detailed story with interviews with her family.

Filipinos in Britain’s Got Talent: Pinoy Brit Kid Charlie Green

Friday, April 25th, 2008

After posting Madonna Decena's very touching first round win in Britain’s Got Talent Show, another pinoy blooded singer came on stage this time a 10 year old kid, whose dad is British and mom filipina from cebu. He was given a unanimous yes by all three judges and the strict Simon Cowell remarked at the end that he was just absolutely thrilled with Charlie.

It seems Charlie had been honed by his father Roger, formerly from BBC, and was fortunate to have performed at the Royal Opera house, St. James Palace. Read more about him and the other performers in the Daily Mail.

I cried when I watched Madonna's video performance, this time, I can’t help but smile and cheer at the way Charlie Green sang and danced Frank Sinatra’s Summer Wind.

Another filipina wows the world: Madonna Decena

Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008

I cried when I watched this video. Had goose bumps during the emotion filled standing ovation. Proud to be filipina!

Let me quote the description done by the video uploader from you tube:

Madonna Decena blows the judges and audience away on Britains Got Talent 2008 with a breathtaking performance of this famous Whitney Houston song..Britains Got Talent 2008.
But this 33 year-old from the Philippines lived up to her billing, as she wowed the judges and audience with her powerful performance and heart-felt story.

Trembling and a little unsure of herself, Madonna walked onto the stage and told everyone her reason for being there.

Six months ago she flew out to Britain in the hope of creating a better life for herself and two young daughters. Agonisingly she had to leave her precious children behind with their grandparents in the Philippines, until she had raised enough money to send for them.

Her rendition of I Will Always Love You brought a collective lump to the auditorium’s throat.

“I know you were singing that song for your babies” said a tearful Amanda.

This audition was no Holiday for Madonna, it was potentially life-changing, and when the panel told her she had made it to the next round… it was as if all her dreams had been answered, just Like A Prayer.
